Apex Dunk Catback Owners,Critics, and Fans

What is your opinon of this exhaust? I just purchased it a few days ago but it's being shipped to me by the end of the week. I saw a photo awhile ago but when I searched now there wasn't one. Does anyone have photos? Thanks

I got it from preludeparts.com for $370 shipped with the Silencer. Awesome deal, right? They have it posted for 350 shipped but I found a price at www.racingworks.com for 325 shipped and they matched it and cut me a deal on the silencer. Just email them and tell them to match racingworks.com price. They're kinda crappy about writing back quickly but they'll reply. He told me that they have the exhaust in stock for the Base and the SH. you might want to check www.modacar.com if you have a Type SH $289 plus shipping.

I like the fact that the exhaust can be loud when I want it to, and if I'm getting too big a headache then I'll just put the silencer in and shut it up some. The tip is not my first choice but as long as a small woodland animal doesn't make it's home there, I'm happier than a little school girl. Thank you for the comments. Imagepree, can you post a picture? Thanks

I have the dunk now and love it, except for when I scrape. I had a dc sports, but eventually I didn't like the looks of it. It is quite loud and I plan on getting the silencer when I get around to it.

I love the dunk. Never really had any problems scraping. I don't think that it's that loud at idle and low rpm's, but it can get loud when in VTEC country. Did the silencer do a lot, or does it only dampen the sound a little. Also, where did you get it and how much?

Heres a pic of it on my 5th gen.

P.S. if you get the OEM or WW RS kit you will notice how the tip of the muffler stops before the rear lip

scraping? with passengers in the car, the WHOLE exhaust scrapes! but i don't care since it's been 4 years of abuse and there are no signs of it breaking any time soon.

as for the tone, it's very deep. you might think it's loud at 1st, but it's nothing compared to the TRM. btw, in VTEC, i can't even hear the exhaust so i dunno what you guys are talking about. all i hear is *WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA*

My personal opionion is that the Dunk is nice but very loud.

I have the N1 which is nice not loud but good enough.

In my opinion, the N1 is louder than the Dunk. I've heard both of them before but they were on a Civic. Thanks for the comments.

if i was buying again i would probably get trm or n1 instead of my evo... but after i finally get a rear lip it will probably look fine

installation

For those of you who have the Dunk Catback how hard was the installation? I'm confident in my abilities mechanically but were there any obstacles that you had to work with in installing this exhaust? I know that there are three bolts that are a bizznitch to take off (I don't know where those bolts are yet if anyone has pictures, I'd be appreciative.) If anyone has any tips for me they would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks

That pic was from last summer. I wore them down to the stell belt street racing.

Just don't get an exhaust that sounds like it wines

almostlude-

It's a little difficult to do on your own, just because it's hard to heft the parts around when you're lying under the car, easier with two people. For those bolts, try them with some Liquid Wrench and if that doesn't work, any gas station should be able to get them off with air tools and a torch.
