hi, so i was on local car forum, and i keep seeing an ad for DashZRacing. it caught my attention because the image happened to be a white 5th gen prelude with GREEN (lime green) Fog lights (green light, not glass).
i went in hoping to see those, but only found the 3 in that link; clear, orange, smoked/black.
was wondering if anyone has bought or seen these? they look like the JDM fogs... but im not sure, since i never seen the JDM ones rep or real in person. for $125, that beats JDM ones. (not sure about replica price).
on a side question: to get a green fog light, one can just simply replace the bulb right? ;\
Seems expensive for replicas. Ebay replica fogs are cheaper.
You could get a green HID kit if you really wanted to, but then the light won't really help illuminate the road. I'm not even sure you can get halogen bulbs with a green tint to them, you'd probably have to go HID. Kinda cheesy if you ask me.
Those are the first version of the replicas which were made out of plastic. The second version are made out of metal and can be had for $60 shipped on eBay. Then add on a $30 shipped HID kit from DDM.
The V2s are actually quite nice except they rust easy. I had them for about 2 months during the summer and rusted to hell.
Please specify exactly what rusts so you're not giving people the wrong impression.
What rusts is the bracket that you mount to the bumper. The actual fog lights DO NOT rust since they're made from aluminum. And if you're worried about a little surface rust that you can't see, dont bother with these. Otherwise surface rust isn't a bad thing since it prevents from the rest of the metal from rusting. What 4bangincivic said is a huge exaggeration anyway since they dont rust as bad as he claims, a little surface rust here or there. Just get some spray paint and they'll be perfectly fine.
I've used them through a summer and a winter. Once they rust a bit it doesnt spread.
I have the v2's and I noticed a small bit of rust on the mounting bracket. It's not visible unless you take the lights out and last time I checked plastic doesn't rust, so I don't see a problem with it outside of the housing. Use the money you saved on the v2's to paint the bracket and you will still end up with 70 bucks in your pocket. Unless you are one of those 'has to be Honda parts' guys.

Really though, I've seen Preludes with replica fogs parked right next to Preludes with the real ones. Even when they are right next to each other, you can't really tell a difference. I've got 55w HID's in my JDM fogs...I don't know if the replicas to hold up to those, but unless you are going to use a 55w kit, get the replicas and save some cash.

You mean 'has to be Koito parts' guys. >_>

Any person who has 55W HIDs in their reflector lights deserves their car to catch on fire. I can stand 35W, but 55W is overkill.

I'd understand that if I used my fog lights to blind oncoming traffic, but I don't. I'm well aware that they create glare like a mofo so I use them accordingly. I really only use them on scarcely traveled back roads or when some douche bag is traveling under the speed limit while blocking the passing lane. Other than that, they stay off.
The guy is saying the hids are 55w and blind people so they'll be used like high beams. when I want to flash someone/light up the road better I want it instantly on instead of having to wait for them to warm up again everytime a car passes by in the opposite direction. That's my opinion anyway
^When I turn them off and turn them back on right away (after a car passes or whatever) there is really no warm up delay. It's just the first time they are turned on, they take about 10-15 seconds to reach full brightness. After that, they are "warmed up" until they stay turned off for awhile.
If I want to flash someone, I've still got the stock high beams in my headlights too. The HID's are WAY brighter than the high beams though. With my fogs turned on, it is hard to even tell if the headlights or high beams are on at all, the HID's project brighter light in all directions and just drown them out.
It's not like you're giving anything up when you put HID's in jdm fogs because they don't do jack sh!t with halogen bulbs in them. With HID's in them, they at least serve some purpose some of the time. With halogen bulbs in them, the only purpose they serve is filling the hole in the bumper, they are completely useless as lights.
