Fowling O2 Sensors

I'm quoting myself here from this thread that is almost a year old. My O2 sensors would fowl right at about every 4K miles from the soot collected on them from Not using premium gas. I was trying to save a little money when the gas prices were freakin $4.00gal. Since then I use ONLY premium, no more fowling sensors and 2 more miles per gallon. I won't put anything but premium in it from now on. (lesson learned)

you get better mpg with premium fuel. i do a lot of traveling and my averages are:

regular: 23.5
premium:26.2

it is worth the extra money and will help your car in the long run.

I didn't notice the car called for premium until my second fill up- I'm noticing performance and mpg differences immediately. No way will I go back to 87 octane.

Truth man, when i bought my car it had regular in it (f-ing dealership) and it ran like balls. Idled low, stalled, all kinds of problems. First fill up i used mid grade because the it was all the way on the right where premium should be, Didn't get much better. But i immediately felt the difference when i filled it up with premium the first time, and the low idle problem went away as well. I would NEVER put anything other than premium in my car after that, I even went through the trouble of buying octane booster when the gas station i stopped at was out of everything but regular.

Premium all the way.

fyi: octane boosters usually only increase fuel octane by a few points..If it states it will increase the octane by 7 points and you use it with 91 octane, the total net octane produced will be 91.7.
