anyone know how to change their oil pan? help!

lately, like in the last 2 months or so i keep finding oil drops on my floor from my prelude and when i went under to look at it the oil pan is coated in oil which leads me to believe it is the oil pan gasket. Has anyone changed their oil pan? If so, how ward would you say it and and what supplies would be needed for a complete job. Thanks for any info you guys can provide.

Are you absolutely sure about where it's coming from? Before you go tearing apart the oil pan, maybe clean off the engine colpetely and then run the car and check again for a leak. All the oil will run down to the oil pan, as it follows gravity. Perhaps your leak is higher up on the engine.

I don't think the oil gasket is something that's likely to leak on a car as new as yours.

With some recent info that I've heard from removing oil pan, I wouldn't think that the oil would be leaking from there. The oil pan is very much stuck to the block and sealed very well. My source had to pry the thing off with full force.

the oil pan is sealed with a special LIQUID gasket and I don't think you want to change it yourself. Honda replaced my oil pan last month so that's how i know. (covered under extended warranty, thank goodness)

i think it is leaking from there because when i bought the car the oil pan looked like it got punctured somehow and they just welded it back together so maybe they did a bad job sealing it again, but one person told me i just need to drop the exhaust and buy the honda bond from honda and then just pull the pan, can someone enlighten me if it is more complicated than that?
thanks

I notice that you have a 97. I thought that I had heard that the 97's had problems with the front main seal? I highly doubt, as the others have said, that it is your oil pan that is leaking.

the 97+ Ludes do not have a oil pan Gasket. They are bolted on with Honda bond. A new pan and honda bond is all you need to replace if it is the case.
