Anyone with 2000 or 2001 OEM security system with Accord Trunk popper?

I've been trying the Accord Trunk popper for Honda OEM security system for few days now but it's not working Yes, I followed the instruction on the FAQ's page etc. Then I noticed when I was researching that 2000-2001 use different security system harnes than 97-99 models. 97-99 models have more stuff on the harness, this is probably why OEM optional siren system was only for 97-99 models. Anyways I want to ask you guys if anyone here who were able to do Accord trunk popper with OEM security system with 2000 or 2001 model. Or tell me what year your car is if you were able to do this mod. Thank you.

Are you sure you have the OEM alarm or is it just the keyless entry? Do you have a panic button?

If the wire harness changed in the '00-'01 Preludes then they probably changed in the '00-'02 Accord EX also. You might want to go to the dealership and take a peek.

I was trying to hook up Accord's popper so when I press option on my remote, it'll pop open.

yeah, I got it to work in my 2000 Prelude w/OEM alarm. This was WAY over a year ago. I have since sold my car. I searched and found an old post where we were talking about hooking up the trunk popper. If you look on the third page, I actually still have my installation pictures in there. This should help you out.

Just installed factory alarm...option button to roll windows?

Dude just make sure that the channel for the option button is turned on. I have the dealer installed an alarm when I got my car and they put in a Pursuit alarm instead of the OEM one. Well anyways, when I did the popper installation I was racking my brains as to why it didn't work. I finally got a multimeter to test the wire on the harness that corresponded to the option button. There was no signal coming from there so I called those bastards at the Honda dealership and they guy gave me this little key-turning-button-pressing procedure that turns on the channel for the option button. After that I tested again with the multi meter and sure enough there was a signal when I pressed the option button. And now my trunk pops like mother****er.

Jackhammer, can you tell me the procedure to turn on the channel for the option button? If you still remember or have it. Thanks

Frankly, I don't remember it but I doubt my procedure will work with your alarm. You got a Honda OEM alarm and I got a fricken Pursuit alarm. Call up the Honda dealership and say that you recently got the Prelude from them and you need to get some info on the alarm. They're not going to check if you bought the car from them or not. Too much of a hassle for those bastards. They'll just direct your call to the guy who installs alarm and he'll hook yo trick ass up. Coo?

Bullchan, have you tested your install with a multimeter yet to make sure that you're getting the signal from your alarm?

you have the OEM alarm right? There is nothing to turn on, it's already there. Did you even bother to read my above post with the link to the prior discussion on installing the trunk popper? Everything is there, including my installation pictures. Just wire it up and you're set!

well, do you have that same empty slot in your green alarm harness that plugs into the brain? It was the 3rd from the bottom right. If so, if you are using a pin connector, or just shave the wire down like I did, make sure the wire/connector is pushed completely into that slot. Have you double checked all of your wire connections? Also, are you holding down your option button for approx. 2 seconds or so, because it doesn't work instantly, you have to press and hold the button in. You should then hear your relay click and the trunk popper opens your lock.

my alarm is a "pursuit" alarm too... as long as u have an "option" button.. it'll work..

go on www.audiovox.com and look for ur alarm model number.. and u can d/l the manual in PDF format.. there should be a schematic of the wires..
