It wouldn't be a very good idea, the cons outweigh the pros significantly. An 18 inch wheel is heavier (which is bad for gas mileage, suspension/handling, acceleration), you have to run a smaller tire that has hardly any sidewall (also bad for handling/road holding), and lastly they are more expensive to buy tires for because it's an 18 inch wheel...even though it takes less material to make the tire...
Most HFP wheels come in the same style in different sizes, check to see if they have a 17x7.
