Anybody paint the chrome part of APC taillight?

How hard is it to take it apart and reseal it? those of you that have the APC 3 circle altezza tail plz answer me?

I'm looking to paint the chrome part body colour... would sealing it with a glue gun prevent leak? or is opening it will crack something?

i haven't done it, but people have.
what color are you planning on?
btw the G4 altezzas in CF are the least terrible of the altezzas

Use silicone to glue it together (i think)
you should be able to take it apart with a mix of prying and heat (heat gun would be good, just dont melt anything imortant)

hope i helped

Nocturnal, you painted it black or was it the cf ones?

if you painted yourself, then maybe you can answer my question... I really don't want to open it up, then find out that I cracked something and it won't seal properly.

I'm trying to paint it ebp by the way.

Yeah, I painted em black... I went to Home depot, rented a heat gun, and did it that way...

You have to heat them up pretty good (to the point that you can bend the plastic) Start at a corner and apply gentle, yet constant pressure to the clear part, and it will begin to separate. After that, just work your way to the other end. After that, mask off the lenses (or remove them by heating them.) I masked them and cut the tape slightly larger than the lens. That way I have a small chrome ring around my lights... The rest is black. I have gen 3, so I also removed the whole reverse light assy (was half red/ half clear) so that now I have two red lights and a clear.

It looks alot better than regular altezzas. I have a pic around heree somewhere that I'll try to post.
