Mustang (antique model) broke down too much-- needed a new car.
Looked around for anything used for $10k-$15k that seated four, had a turbo, manual trans, RWD or 4WD and wasn't ugly.
Ended up getting a non-turbo FWD with all the other things I was looking for. Type SH Prelude.
Hated to start, hated it off and on for the last two years because it won't turbo and is not RWD/4WD. I have loved how it drives from the start and still do. It'll do anything.
But I would never buy one again

I don't like FWD unders teer plow, and I want 400 turbocharged horsepower before all the cars are hybrid, fuel cell electrics with telematics that take over the job of the driver.
To note, though, when I bought the car in 2000, there wasn't much of a better selection at that time, although I never did get to try out a Subaru 2.5RS.
Keep the car and drive the piss out of it (gently). Enjoy. Later on you'll be able to buy exactly what you want.
For my car, I have finally just said "f*ck it!" to the whole car customization mess. I will fit on much better tires, coilovers, and eventually a stiffer clutch as needed, but this isn't a Ferarri. It's a Prelude. Preludes slice through traffic, not the Autobahn.
When I start getting paid professionally and manage to save a little, I'll buy exactly what I want in a car, and if the dealer doesn't carry it from the factory, too bad for them. No $30-$40k from me.
Enjoy the Prelude for what it is designed to do (but buy really good shocks and tires). Honda makes too much of an effort to build a car that can't be effectively modified to do more.
