What's the deal with the antifreeze in the 5th gen, is it really necessary to use honda antifreeze? What's wrong with prestone or some other brand?

Let's just say that Honda has done a lot of their own chemical engineering and it works. If you want to use another brand-and it meets Honda spec for NO silicates, that should be fine. Just make absolutely sure that ALL of the old anti-freeze is flushed completely out. This is particularly important if you elect to use the new "extended life" type.
