sup guyz i got a 01 lude and wanted to beef up the security so i can SHAKE THEM HATERS OFF.. WAT IS THE BEST ALARM FOR THE PRICE. i dont wna go cheap on it. im thinking abt adding a interior, exterior, proximity, glass mirror SECSORS. and a remote start.
I have a viper alarm w/ trunk, hood, and glass tampering and no complaints at all. If i wanted too i could add things such as the extra things that u would want.
i have an alpine alarm with lcd screen that goes inside ur car..and its pretty good cuz it tells u if something happened to the car...and im also going to get a pager soon..part of the alpine security..and it has all sensors including trunk and many other options but i dont have money right now..
If you're thinking an audible alarm will "shake them haters off", then we must be in a time warp.
People only paid attention to horns, sirens and flashing lights for car alarms back in the 1980's. If you've got a sweet ride then be perpared for it to draw attention. Hey, when chicks dress like Britney Spears, they know they're gonna get hit on regardless if they are walking down the street or in a club.
Deal with it!
I have a Clifford Intelliguard 9000...It's good since it got the extra features like the proximity sensor, remote start, etc...but lately it be tweakin...need to fix the wiring...Good luck with Alarm shoppin!
I'm installing a Clifford Concept 400 in my lude in about 2 weeks. It comes with a dual zone prox, I am also adding the tilt sensor which is real handy for the thieves that like your wheels and exhaust. I'm also using a hood and trunk pin, plus the doors will be protected by the dome light circuit. I'm using two pain generator sirens in my vents and another extra siren in the trunk. I'm using a battery back-up siren under the hood. And i am also installing the smart windows module to open and close my windows from the remote. I was going to add the remote start, but it's a pain with a manual transmission.
I like clifford because of some of the optional sensors, the fact that most alarms come with only a starter kill, where the clifford comes with both the starter and ignition kill, and clifford just seems to have the nicest looking pieces, such as the remotes, the nice bright fat LED and these alarms have incredible range too.

r u talking about the alpine SEC-8063?...cuz i saw it on their website and didn't kno if it was worth the $400 or not. how much did u pay? did it come with all the sensors or were those options that you got?
400 is kind of steep, cause you have to buy the radar sensor separate. but it is a really good alarm and the lcd display makes using and changing options a breeze. I have had it for almost a year now and i love it. You can add all the extra sensors to it, but you will pay extra.
just for the record i payed 160 for mine
