Alarm questions

Hey guys,
I recently installed a new HU in my car and I am planning to have my car at college next year. The HU has a detachable face plate which should help a little, but I was thinking about getting an alarm as well. I REALLY want keyless entry so if I don't get an alarm I will buy keyless entry anyways.

My main questions is, I am living in the dorms at school so I won't really be close to where my car is parked most of the time, so having an alarm siren go off wouldn't really let me know that someone was messing with my car. What is the best alarm I could get in this case?
I would like to scare off a would-be thief if possible... Around my school car theft and stuff doesn't happen too much, but I'd like to be on the safe side. Since I really wouldn't be able to just run out and turn the alarm off, I don't want an alarm that would just keep going off since people around probably wouldn't pay any attention anyways and it would just drain my battery.

Also, I have heard of like pager alarms.. are there any that can like send a message to a cell phone... since i don't have a pager?

Thanks for your help!

You dont need a pager to have a paging system alarm...the paging system alarm comes with a pager....take "Compustar" for example this alarm system pages you and tells you if your alarm was going off and the range is pretty good as well...I have it and its coo, go to their site and get info on them, if you LIKE wut the have to offer get it...thats what i did and I GOT IT...

i say get a clifford and screw the pager

if you're in class and your car gets broken into, by the time you run to your car it'll already be gone

the best alarm is to keep your car stock looking as much as possible.
