But hell it looks nice.

As for the intake...why didn't u jsut go for the stainless look, or go for the INJEN intake...which is stainless, and cheaper(i think).

haha get the injen one
he only difference that the aem had was the zirconia based PAINT
haha the stainless model...obviously does not have any paint on it...so therefore...no zirconia (i think it's zirconia...dont want to look it up)

so they are pretty much the same intake except the aem costs more...

get the injen race divison intake and get a splash guard for it...hehe it looks kool

That means I think, AEM has a ceramic based powercoating on

them, so it would diffuse the heat that builds up in the engine

compartment. You could take a 2.5" pipe from J.C. Whitney

catalog and have your exhaust shop bend it for you. You could

do it yourself, but you need to be a super man or have a mandrel

bending machine ($$$$). Not too expensive to have it done at

the shop.

Then go get a

intake filter. HKS(breast) filters are good. I think it's got a

diffuser

built in the filter housing like the injen intake pipes.(not sure.)

Anyway, then you go get a ceramic based engine paint and spray

about 4 to 6 coat on your intake pipe. You have something that's

almost like AEM intake but hella cheaper. about $100+. less

Oh, and BMW's performance division/aftermarket source Dinan

already have a Carbon Fiber intake for many BMW models. They

are real CF, Not like that crap you get from ebay where it's only a

fake CF sticker over a stainless pipe. I checked it out( BMW CF

intake) and you could acutally modify your stock intake to have

that CF intake fit your lude. Amazing. it's supposed to be cold air

intake for BMW Z3 but it's got that shape we could use. just

letting you know of the options.

You could study some of the aerodynamics applied to intakes.

It's interesting. How the air travels at the speed of light, up and

down the intake pipe just before everytime the throttle body

opens up. and so on and on. the longer and narrower the pipe

without restricting the air to the engine is the best functioning

intake and is best friend to the petro and the pistons. anyway...

If i were u, just measure the opening of your TB and then find a pipe made to that size.

i think the piping on it is 2.5 inches too...
and it has a special rubber thing that connects the piping to the throttle body cause the piping is bigger...

3" plumbing section of home depot. it really is not the same thing though, with all the joints you will have alot of turbulance. But go for it, and don't forget the duct tape.
