air fuel guage in 5th gen lude

Help, i am trying to put an air fuel guage in my prelude.
well i already did. im just trying to make it work correctly now.
i have the black wire grounded. the red wire going to constant power in the fuse box. i ran the purple wire to my oxygen sensor before the catalytic converter. I know it should work. it doesnt alternate or pan left or right. it just stays to the lean side of stoich when i am at no throttle and at idle and when i hit the gas it goes straight to rich. it doesnt scroll to rich. none of the other lights light up. just the last green rich light. then when i let of the gas it doesnt scroll to stoich or lean, it jumps right back to where it started from (to the last stoich light on the lean side). I have tried it on every wire of my sensor. different results. this is the only wire (white wire) that it even works half ass on. I have even tried another guage that i know works right. anybody got an air-fuel guage help. anything. a diagram??!! please!!!!

stumped

Had him modify my guage and I am installing my new 02 sensor tomorrow or wednesday so I'll tell you if it works or not.

The ECU? It's underneath the floor panel on the passenger side.

You're looking to buy some SH rims? I've got 4 powder coated white w/ tires. Let me know if you're interested. If the color is a problem I can fix that.

WDW - I emailed you with more info on the ECU and the rims.

prelude_sh_vtec - Nah, you just ship your guage to him and he modifies it and sends it back. I only needed a new O2 sensor cause I fried mine welding my downpipe on.

I don't know if this a fix or not though since I have not tried mine yet. I will let you know though.

tap into the white wire on the ECM connector D...this connector has 16 pins on it...the white wire is in the middle row, second from the left (terminal #7) when u are looking at the wire side of the female terminal...to count the pins, it goes from 1 at top left-hand corner to 16 at the bottom right hand corner...the white wire receives the primary O2 sensor signal

This article is for a J&S, but it has everything you need to know. Use the ECU ground and don't ground to the body. You'll get too much noise that way.

To make it even easier:

In connector D, where the large GREEN wire is going to, it's tapping into the white wire you're looking for.

You probably tapped into the wrong wire. I'm guessing you tapped into the o2 heater wire. The best bet is to go directly off of your ecu
