Aging Power Door Locks

Ok, I've searched enough... All of the hits I can find are wiring issues.

Problem is, my power door locks have seen better days... about 75% of the time, they work once; but after that, they just wiggle a little bit. I'm no mechanical genious, but I've came to the conclusion that either the lock actuator is tired and old; or something needs a bit of grease.. I mean, that stuff has to dry up after 10 years...

Thus, my question is this: Which is my most likely situation?
1) Aged Door Lock actuator, that has naturally lost power over the years
2) It just needs a dab of lube!

Also, where is the most likely spot that the lube needs to be applied?

V/r,
Mike

I've also been having a problem with the passenger side actuator. When I got the car, it worked most of the time (hitting lock/unlock more than once seemed to do it.) However, now it only moves half way, at best.

I took apart the door to see what was going on and even with everything disconnected from the actuator, it wasn't able to move all the way. So, I found a new aftermarket one on eBay for about $50. It should be a bolt in (or more accurately a snap in, since it has no bolt holes!)

It sounds like you have a similar problem...

So, now the question is, does the window glass, etc. have to be removed to replace this? I'm thinking not, despite the fact that all has to be removed to replace the door latch.
