aftermarket clutch options

What are some options for upgrading my clutch? Brand names? Ive heard of fidanza flywheels, do they make clutches also? Im not looking to spend tip top dollar, but I want something that will grab a little better than the stock setup. Maybe I should go with a lightweight flywheel while Im replacing the clutch also. Your thoughts?

My stock clutch still has some useful life, but I have multiple oil leaks, one of which looks like its the rear main seal. So I figure upgrade the clutch if I have to pay the labor to replace the seal, might as well.

I like my competition clutch. I've had it for ~2 years, ~12k miles, it's seen a decent amount of track time too.

my buddy recommends spec cluch kits + a fidanza 8lb flywheel.

can someone recommend what stage clutch kit i should get tho? my buddy said to get a stage 3 but wouldnt that put a lot of strain on the transmission/kick a lot? plus im not running mad power. I have basic bolt ons..intake/header/exhaust/suspension mods.

anyways didnt mean to steal ur thread but i didnt really want to post a new thread when our questions are kinda similar

No need to apologize malone. Im thinkin the same things. I have the same kind of bolt on mods (minus exhaust, which is coming after I get these oil leaks fixed, gota have priorities ya know!).

My lude is a dailey driver, so I dont want a clutch that grabs too hard. Just something that isnt as soft as the stock setup.

Also, what are the effects of a lightweight flywheel/high aftermarket clutch? Im thinking it will allow the engine to rev a little quicker/easier? And of course you shed a few pounds. But what about any negative effects ppl have noticed after upgrading this, like suffering driveability for dailey drivers???

ya mine is my daily driver and my only car so i dont want something thats gonna grab insanely hard thats why i dont know what stage kit i should get lol. You pretty much summed up what the lightened flywheel will do, it allows you to rev faster / sheds pounds throughout the gears. I havnt heard 2 many negative things about these upgrades..just make sure you have someone who knows what they are doing / someone you trust so they dont screw up your car. but anyways.. what stage clutch kit should i get people?!

Honestly, I'd contact the manufacturer to get the best recommendation. Let them know make and model, estimated current/future power, and your intended use of the vehicle. As I said I have the clutchmaster, it's a stage 3. I forget what it's rated for, a lot more than my motor makes, btw it's a type-s swap, intake, exhaust, that is all other than suspension/weight reduction. My rationale behind it was that it'll be strong enough to endure what i'm using the car for (daily driver as well as highspeed autocross) and so far it's held up *knock on wood*. I love it, upshifts as well as downshifts are sooo much sweeter, grabs hard but not unbareably hard. My buddy got the stage 4 from clutchmasters for his spec-v, I drove that multiple times and screw that, it was stiff as could be, not much feel in the clutch, and just grabbed a little too hard for me.

I think the clutch/flywheel made a decent difference as well. I kinda raced a 5th gen with an exhaust maybe more, I don't know. All I had was the clutch/flywheel/exhaust, anyways I was behind him he gunned it and gunned it as soon as I noticed he was *from a dig, he was approximately half car away from me* I got through 1st and up till 6k in 2nd and had to stop cause I was on his ass. Maybe he sucked at driving, don't know, but i'm not that great at slamming gears, turning is my thing!

Sorry if it was too long of a post for what you were looking for but it doesn't seem like anybody is really helping you guys out yet. Figured i'd shed what little knowledge I have on ya. Anyways good luck, happy luding, and don't forget to do a search you'll probably find a lot more via that than this thread.

Centerforce dual friction clutch. Had it for 40,000km so far. Have a light flywheel with it. Perfect imo
