I see on sites listing unorthodox pully for an 8-15hp gain, this sounds rather out there, but they are twice as much as AEM. so is unorthodox that much better? People say they get like 3-5hp with aem pullys.
I believe the Unorthodox setup involves 3 pulleys (crank, alternator, and P/S pulley), while the AEM has 2 pulleys (alternator, P/S). I went for AEM anyways. Harmonics (71dsp can tell ya) is not one to be trifled with.

The keywords are Unorthodox pulleys. Here's a post about one of them, and 71dps talks about harmonics a little: Recipe on modding prelude's engine

well, i heard ppl saying the solid pulley like unorthodox is going to damage the crank in long run. is anyone can gimme idea that i still need balance the engine if i take it out and back to factory pulley??
Ummm yeah AEM pullies really suck. Go with uo or somthing else.... anything is better.... The guys at many proformance shops down here wont even sell them or put them on. Huge diffrences in AEM and UO and no the gains are not that far out there.
Well I think this is more of a matter of will your lude keep on going w/ the added horses provided by the Unorthodox set. Cause no matter if they're gonna give me 50+ horses...if the car's gonna give out then I'm not using them, period. So yeah obviously AEM won't give ya as much of a performance gain, but hey at least the car's gonna keep running!
heh i wasnt saying that UOs were better or worse i wouldnt put on a mod that would kill my car either heh to be 100% truthful i would put either on my car.... so heh its all cool.... sorry for the confusion...
so how about using the unorthodox pullies but without the crank one? i guess thats defeating the purpose of buying the aem though.. unless they are THAT much better
