Ok, so I finally got my "V2" intake yesterday. I ordered it online from a site called partsgeek.com.
When I first pulled out the intake from the box it was the gunmetal "V2" style intake but did not have the "AEM V2" decal on it. Instead it had the "AEM Intake Systems" decal on it.
Also, I got the regular type of filters and not the Dry Flow.
I hate returning stuff especially through mail so I just installed it anyways though I was not really happy with the purchase.
When I installed it and went for a test drive, every time I stepped on the gas it would make a blup blup blup sound. I figured something might be loose even though I double checked everything. So I triple checked and nothing appears to be loose.
Anybody had this experience before with the sound?

You guys know how there is a nipple on the intake and you hook a hose from it to the valve cover nipple? There is another nipple on the V2 intake towards the end of the intake (the end that is going to the intake manifold). Does that nipple hook up to the intake manifold or do I plug it up? The installation instructions doesn't say anything about this nipple.
I'm trying to figure out what I am doing wrong with the V2. My car is still making a funny sound at the beginning of first gear. Sounds like something is clogged or something. I put back on my old AEM cold air intake and the sound went away. Put back on the V2 and the sound came back. So I know it's the intake. They both hook up the same except that there is a second nipple on the V2.

Kronn or anyone else, do you guys know if it is necessary to replace the water bypass hose as it says to in the installation instructions? This is the one step that I skipped. Maybe that is why my car is making that funny noise... lol. What exactly does this do and why would it be necessary? And when I remove the hose, will a lot of coolant leak out? Sorry, I'm not too knowledgeable about cars but I'm trying to learn
The air bypass valve is designed to open if there's no airflow through your filter (like it's under water). Not exactly sure how the system is designed, so I can't say what to check for. However, I can say that the bypass valve is unneeded and kinda makes the intake worthless.

Take a picture of the thing you think you're talking about.

Here are the installation instructions. I am wondering if step 3A is necessary. I understand that if you unplug this hose, coolant will leak so if it is not necessary, I want to avoid it. Do you remember doing this step? Will a lot of coolant leak out?
I see now. It clearly states to drain some coolant to prevent this step from leaking.
However, you can skip the removal step. It'll look cluttered but it's an option.
My recommendation would be to follow the instructions exactly as they are written.
