Alright i have had my V2 for just over a year now. No problems. 2001 EBP 5 speed by the way. A couple months ago it started to run rich. only on startup though and it would clean itself through and wouldnt even start if it was below freezing outside. Honda said theres a solonoid on my stock intake thats controlling the flow rate of fuel. But i talked to a Honda Tech and he said it was not likely. So far they have changed spark plugs, FPR, Injectors, IAC Valve ad it still runs like trash. Oh yeah and the fuel pressure spikes to around 40psi on start up when it should be at 34psi. Also i put a new air filter on it recently too. Honda keeps diagnosing it every week with something new... Any suggestions would be appreciated as i NEED my lude back asap! I miss VTEC!
yeah there is. only if it idles though for like more than 5 min. not sure what the code is but its something about running rich and intake. and it gives a misfire code (cel flashes) when you put it up into vtec and then let it idle and it shakes horribly. honda has no effing clue.

Yes, the scanner tool is available for free use at just about any autoparts store.
Did honda test your oxygen sensors? If the pre-cat sensor is messed up and reads lean the ecu will adjust and make the mixture more rich. Although I don't think the o2 sensor would effect start-up, only the running part.
Did you check for vacuum leaks? Just pop your hood and check all the hoses and stuff on your intake manifold to make sure they are all secure and not cracked or leaking.
There are many possibilities. Your best bet is to get that code 1st and then research what causes the code and knock out the causes one by one (easiest to most complicated).
i realize i can get it scanned almost anywhere. but i dont have the car. Honda did check the O2 sensors and told me were fine. I checked for leaks and couldent find any and neither could they. but yeah first thing monday morning ill call honda and get the code as its sitting there. who knows maybe they made some progress on it since i last checked in with them. thanks for the advice
