AEM pully's

What difference do these lighter pulleys actually have?

Do they have any performance benefits?

You yanks seem to put them on all your preludes so they must be worth having.

AEM's pullies are not lighter. They are larger and underdrive the electrical system, reducing the load.

Some have said they produce 5-9 whp, dyno proven.

Edit-

If you want lightweight pullies, get the set of Unorthodox Racing pullies. They are the same diameter as the stock pullies, but lighter in weight. Just stay away from the crank pulley. It does not have the harmonic dampener which the stock crank pulley has and can supposedly cause premature wear and tear on the engine.

Yes. They're lighter and larger. When I installed them I definitely can tell the differences in weight. Regardless of what others have said, I can't really tell the differences compared to the stock ones in terms of performance. At idle though my alt. was only putting out 12-12.5 volts. You might put that in mind if you have a big system, which I do and I haven't had any problems yet.
