I remember seeing dynos that showed the original AEM CAI putting out less hp than the stock with K&N filter. Are you talking about the AEM CAI or the SRI V2?

If you are asking if $100 is a good price, then yes, that is a good price for that intake. It has a lifetime filter on it, so as long as it doesn't look like somebody ran it through the garbage disposal, there is really nothing else to "check out" first.

It's a pain in the a$$ actually. You have to put the filter on after you run the piping into the front bumper. On my car had to do a little grinding to get the piping through as well.
I got a free AEM CAI on friday. Installing it is a pain in the ass! ahahha. It took a friend of mine and I an hour and a half. The intake was bent around the tip (filter end) and it took forever to get the filter on. Making the hole for the intake took long as well, we were using a hammer until some russian guy at the shop gave us this cool tool to use. The filter was to close to the wall (idk what its called) and it was hard to get in.
I have only had my Prelude for a week, but have been doing non-stop research for 7 days. I found an AEM CAI on ebay for $108 shipped. I cut it to be a ram air intake but found many complaints online that its just sucking in hot air because of how close the filter is to the block. The shop fabricated a NACA duct for $30 and they are going to install it tomorrow! I also found a password JDM 3" velocity stack for $50. With install its gonna be $208 spent on what?? hopefully not just a waste of money

Not a complete waste! Your car will sound different!

HAHAHA sweet! The NACA duct might not be a viable choice anymore. with that id need some kind of bypass valve and hope that water doesnt make its way through still. so I have till tomorrow to decide if i even wanna do it
dude if its a short ram you dont need no bypass vavle! Are you taking your car scuba diving or something? Its only with the cai that could use a intake bypass vavle!

In my post I did say that I have a short ram CAI but I also said that i want a NACA duct which, if it rained, the filter could get soaked. its just an opening in your hood that sucks in air like a vacuum!
