Aem Cai with bypass valve performance

I am going to buy a AEM Cai for sure. I live in Canada and drive my car in the winter so a Bypass Valve is a must.

How much will the valve decrease the performance? Does it significantly affect the sound?

By the way is $310 CAD a good price for a AEM CAI?

Thanks

i have the bypass valve... ive heard some people say that the bpv decreases performance "supposedly" but lets put this in perspective... MAX gains from just a CAI are advertised 6hp realistic 3hp... now i highly doubt that will be a noticeable gain to begin with so lets say you lose 1hp if that will you notice it... NO
In terms of sound when i just had my CAI w/bpv i thought it sounded great compared to stock intake... people have said bpv reduces the roar a little bit... even with the bpv it still sounded great... IMO spend the extra money for the bpv and save yourself ALOT $$$$ and headache when you hydrolock your engine. good luck and nice choice in intake
