AEM Bypass Valve installation

my dog ate the template they gave me....soo can someone let me know how much to cut off?

From what I understood they didnt cut anything off...they just cut it in half, and placed the bypass valve over the split in the pipe..they may have seperated the pipe maybe 1/2 or so

but make sure im right before you go doing this

I cut mine so it fits tightly against the battery and I ended up cutting out about a 1" section. Heres a pic

LOL....i cut an inch off of mine.....it worked fine i guess..... i just remeber aem giving me a template to wrap around the intake pipe so you know where to cut... thanks though

YEA you cut about little more than 1in..when u put on the bypass..if you just chop it in half..your extending the pipe farther into the front bumper. more chance of water injestion or whatever..

Werd...... do you need the foam that covers the outside of the bypass.....my dog ate that too..lol

The foam is basically just a filter if your bypass valve ever happened to activate.Basically you would be sucking in unfiltered underhood air without it but how often would the bypass valve ever work? Never.

You think i should take the bypass valve off?...i drove with the cai in for liek two weeks...i reciently installed the bypass...and i fell the lose of hp.....am i just bugging out?
