AEM Air Bypass Valve

I did a search already for the ABV for my intake. Haven't found anything. I was wondering if anyone has gotten a Air Bypass Valve from AEM and if it's worth it. Considering where I live and how the weather was last year I wanna get one. Any info and all would be gladly appriciated. Thanks

Just get a SRI.

putting a ABV on a CAI nulls the effect of the CAI cause this blocks air.

Also you shouldn't be driving through puddles that deep anyways.

I just put a hydroshield on and avoid puddles.

12 years, 140K+ miles with an Iceman (gasp! remember those?) CAI setup and no problems. No bypass valve, no special filter. I just keep the K&N cone charged every 30K miles and I'm careful with puddles. Not especially careful, though. Let's just say that I don't drive through more than a few inches of water on the passenger side.

leftbrain is right man.as long as u dont drive through a lake you will be fine.you would almost have to completely submerge your filter to get hydrolock anyway.

Actually it still has a foam filter around it.

You wouldn't want to have unfiltered air getting into the engine.

Prelude CAI Install

That's not what you were asking for, but I thought i'd throw it out there. Personally I would not get a bypass. Like other people said, just get a sri if your worried about it, otherwise don't drive through big puddles... which is just a bad idea anyways

it's worth it if you drive through floods... i mean the intake head has to be submerged under water

I don't see how it's worth it.

So you are spending more money on something that doesn't increase your HP just so you can drive through puddles just like the OEM system can at no cost?

It just seems backwards. Again, if I were the OP, I would just get a SRI and be done with it.

It's an intake people, there are more threads / questions about intakes and strut bars than almost everything else.
