Advice Please!

heres the deal, there is this guy that is selling me his 5th gen prelude, super cheap. But he lost the keys. ive read that its expensive to get new ones from the dealer.

now the real question: Can i just simply get the key from another prelude?? and its ignition, and i'm not sure it the immobilizer unit is something separate or its part of the ignition.

any suggestions?

The keys aren't a deal breaker, imo. Maybe $150-175ish. You'll have to get them from a dealer so that the keys can be programmed for that car's immobilizer.

The real question is this: Is it 5-speed or automatic?

Yeah, make sure he actually owns the car, himself.

well, the car is an auto. 1997. 130xxxmiles on it

the guys has the title, but none of the keys.

so this is an easy fix after all??? just go to the honda dealer and have new key reprogramed to the immobilizer?

when you buy the manual tranny and swap parts, make sure to get the immobilizer + ignition + keys from the doner car.
