acura tl-s wheels on a prelude!

2002 acura tl-s wheels are 17 x 6.5 with 55 mm offset. oem lude wheels are 16 x 6.5 with 55 mm offset. seems to me that the tl-s 17s are the best choice. they are hubcentric, same offest and wheel width. anyone try them? anyone know anyone with them. i am interested if anyone knows someone with tl-s wheels for sale.

That actually sounds like it wouldn't be that bad of an idea. I actually like those wheels a lot. Just don't know how they would look on a lude. Also I don't know if they would work, but I would think so.....

I don't think they would fill out the fenders if the offset is 55m and 7" wide. Also you should find out their weight so that you can see if you would be adding unsprung weight.

Of course they would fit. They are 17x7 with 55 offset. YOu can put 17x7.5 on ludes and be fine even 18s. The only thing is if your tires are too big then you will rub. LIke with 17s you can go 215/40 17 or 215/45 17 but you want the higher offset.

What do the TL type S rims look like?
And the combo may work if they look good on a Lude.
Anyone got photoshop 6?

Agreed...I believe that thickness of the rims match the size and body shape of the TL though, but not Preludes.

I have a TL-S and a 01 Lude. I could put two TL wheels on one side and take a pic if you like. I was curious about this myself. I was just too lazy to go do it. Now that someone else is interested, I will take the time to do it. This would be a good time for me to see how my 18" Verdicts look on the TL .

If you to 17" the offset changes...

Bad idea...

Keith what you talking about guy. If they are the same width 6.5" and same offset then it doesnt matter aslong as the proper tire is selected which in this case is a 205/40/17. Both outer rin and inner rim would match on the car for both stock lude and TL rims. Only draw back of the TL rim is they are SUPER HEAVY. Like 26 lbs. Thats some serious HP loss.

I believe the TL rims don't have an offset of 55 and they are definitely not 6.5 in width...

Sure it will fit... but beware of rubbing like SK Honda 7 said before...

First off, TL-S wheels come in 6.5" and 7" widths.

And the set in my basement says 55 offset

i am not interested in BULLS*IT, if you DON'T know the facts DON'T offer WRONG information. we are all here for CORRECT INFO AND HELP. fact, 2001-2002 cl-s wheels are 17"x7" with 55 mm offset, 2002-2003 tl-s wheels are 17"x6.5" with 55 mm offset. 97-01 lude oem wheels are 16"x6.5" with 55 mm offset. tl-s wheels are the PERFECT fit width and offest while allowing a lower profile tire and still keeping the correct CAMBER- this is my main reason i want tl-s wheels. 2nd reason is hubcentric. 205/45/17 or 215/40/17 should be fine. most tire manufacturers suggest the 215/40 on a 7" wide rim, plus the 205/45 should offer a higher load rating which is safer - stock is 87v. the cl-s 17x7 wheels are 24.5 lbs. the tl-s 17x6.5 should be a little lighter, perhaps 23-23.5 lbs. - which is still heavy. WAITING FOR PICS JASON - PLEASE. E-MAIL me at joflewbyu2@aol.com if interested in selling the tl-s rims.
