yea.... pretty hard to locate one, but it'd be very nice to have one. I was just wondering if it mounts on our block with out much modifications.

I know the accord type-r uses the H22 block but no promise if it fits or not. I hear that the base tranny will bolt to the sh block and all but I haven't seen any pics of it so I don't believe it...

A b ase tranny will NOT bolt up to an SH block without a plate being made to house the intermediate shaft rather than the ATTS unit.

Yeah the Accord Type R is a European and Japanese Spec car. The engine is indeed an H22. However I wouldn't guarantee that the tranny will bolt right up I am currently investigating it trying to find out if anyone knows anything more about it. The nice thing about this tranny is I believe that I read that the tranny itself has an intergrated LSD. The only issue with this tranny wqould be getting one. Obviously it would have to be imported at a rather large expense, but also I believe the Accord Type R was a rather limited production item itself, so digging up a donor tranny is gonna be next to impossible. Still I'd love to see it done and am going to push ahead with tryuing to see what the expense of the swap would be, if in fact it is at all possible.

finding one is gonna be practically impossible. your better off just getting a jdm prelude tranny with LSD.

or try finding a type r prelude tranny LoL

The Accord Type R is only offered in Europe and carries a very high sticker price. The base model tranny will not bolt onto the SH block without modifications. The ATR tranny has closer gear ratios and a clutch type LSD (from what i heard, someone who knows more can verify this). My main question would be whether or not it will bolt onto our block. I am thinking about doing a tranny swap on my SS and its an option.

It will definatly bolt up to the H22A block because there is no difference but you will have use BB6 axles. You can also just buy the shorter gears.1st gear and 5th gear have the same ratios on both cars.

No differences in what? I take it you know that the sh tranny and base tranny are not interchangable without modifications....

He didnt say he had a type SH so I assumed he had a base model.Of course you could interchange a base tranny into a type SH if you remove your dual joint suspention along with a few other parts however you would lose your ATTS which obviouslly I dont think an SH owner would wan to do.
