I read it but can't figure out if it will work with my Python alarm. Anyone know?

if you have it a extra auxilary button.. then it should.. just got to relay it to a negative trigger...

hmm try lookin for their website, they usually have the manuals avaiable online.. mine did.. make sure u get the correct manual, NOT the owners one hahaha

Does the alarm system Honda offered with the Prelude have a remote trunk popper, or not? Just curious, HandA has it on sale for $238......sometimes it's nice to know when the doors are locked

shoot, I've searched but nothing. I do have two buttons in my alarm clicker, but don't know what model # my alarm is. I guess I'd have to check it out tomorrow.

yes it does.. if ur remote has a 3rd button then it should...

u just gotta find out which wire it is urself

yea i lost my ownesr manual so i had to look at the brain itself to find the model number hahaha

So what else does my alarm need to have? I need a specific wire or feature from the alarm brain?

it should have a "feature" that sends a negative pulse.. the diagram should tell u if its "low current" cuz low current ones need a relay.. anyhoo.. basically u could wire it to anything.. u could make it set off ur windshield spraying things if u wanted to =-P.. just depends on how u wire it.. but yea check to see if u have an extra wire that's connected to nothing.. get the diagram to find out the color etc.

where can i buy an accord trunk openeer for cheaper than dealer sales anyways? Is there a specific model like is it only for the coupe or the sedan? a certain year?

At the dealership is $35, at hparts.com is $25 plus $8 for shipping. This is the part number: 08e49-s84-100h. I am picking up mine tomorrow and I finally found the diagram for my alarm thru some site from germany. Anyways, maybe I'll do a write up with pics since there isn't one.

oh damn i was gonna tell u to get the 101 instead of th 100

hahaha u can email em or call em 2mrrow to tell em to change it, i doubt they shipped it out yet..

but yea.. all the 2001 models come with that glow in the dark thing =-P

well come to think of it, if i was locked in the trunk, ill jsut pull that thing that releases the back seat locks and craw out that way instead of out of the trunk

I'm picking mine up tomorrow from the dealership. I figured out what wire I have to plug it in to from my alarm. The wire sends a negative signals, so does that mean it's going to be wired to the popper as a ground? And I'd have to wire the positive wire to 12v power source? How many wires am I going to have to wire this thing up to? I'd just like to know how many things does the popper come with. Thanks.

if ur too lazy to read the other thread.. here's a basic diagram.. pretty straight foward once u have the parts.

The wire you need on the Python 1000 is red with a white stripe. Hold the aux button to pop the trunk. Use the diagram above or wire a Bosch style relay as follows:

85 - red/white wire from alarm
86 - fused 12V
30 - fused 12V (same as above)
87 - To single wire on Accord trunk popper

BTW, you also have a third channel available by pressing the lock and unlock together. For example, you could add a window module to roll the windows up/down.

dang, i need to go hunt down my alarm brain and figgure out what alarm i got so i can go install this....(but then, i get the feeling my current alarm sucks badly, so might actually get a new alarm...)

Thanks a million Ludatic and ME. I will install it in a few. ME I found the diagram for my alarm. Mine is actually the 650 not the 1000 so the color of the wire I need is actually blue/white. And I was planning already on programming the truck popper to the third channel (button I and button II pressed together). Thanks again.

yea my alarm is *** and the option button has to be held down for 3 seconds... by that time i could just take my key out.. so i used another wire.. so that i just need to double click it and that'll work.
