Similar to ABS noise, but not...

Hello all. I have been reading alot of posts on here (very helpful), but never posted myself. I was hoping I could get some insights on the noise I am getting from my lude. I have a 97 base 5spd. I have done the research as much as I could and only thing I could find was people saying "it's the ABS noise".

The "vibration" of the noise sounds similar to the initial startup of the ABS (the buzzing), but this happens besides the initial takeoff right after I turn on the engine and drive.

The noise itself is "higher" pitched than the ABS noise, but the vibration I feel is similar.

I only hear this noise when I'm in 1st or 2nd gear at low speed/rpm (mostly in 1st at takeoff from a stop), and it depends on how I engage the clutch.
There is this certain engage point where it will make this buzzing noise for a second. If I rev the engine and engage at a different point, the noise does not appear.

I was wondering if anyone else on here had the same issue and know what is causing this noise.

Thank you all for taking the time to read my post.

Is it a loose cambelt is or faulty auto-tensioner? You can get a wirring noise at low rpm comming from that area.

thanks for the reply.

i don't think it's the tensioner since I just got it changed like 4k miles ago...
i hope they did change it with a new one, because i sure did pay for it.

when you say "cam belt" , ur talking about the timing belt right?

I also got that changed 4k miles ago... maybe they did a crappy job of doing it?

anyone else has any idea?

I'm thinking of taking it to a Honda dealer and have them take a look at it as well...

Slowly increase the revs from idle and see if you get the sound comming from that area. Apart from this I have no idea. I can only comment on what the problem was for me. Yea i guess it is the timing belt. I forget you yanks have a different name for everything!

Hey man, don't be going around and calling me a yank, i'm a jap!!
No offense taken.

It's kind of hard to do what you are suggesting because it only makes this noise/vibration when I'm taking off.
I can feel it little bit in my clutch pedal...
