99' SH Post-Mortem

Well, we had a great time together, through good times and bad. But at 138,876 miles the Prelude finally kicked the bucket. She is survived by her lovely parents and 3 pets.

I have 1999 Prelude Type SH Pearl White with basic mods (intake, header, exhaust, vtec controller). What do you guys recommend I do? Sell it off for parts or sell the shell? How much would the shell go for? Anybody sell engines for this car anymore?

Why not rebuild the engine?

I mean if the car is in nice shape and you're not really interested in anything else.. why not

If you do decide to part out I'd be interested in some of the OEM parts.

Good luck.

Just rebuild it or buy another motor.

LOL, "hyena on that bish". Headgasket blew, and looks like everything else with it.
Looks like I may be parting out or selling 'as is'.

Just bought a 2008 Civic Si, can't belive I am not a preludian anymore. If Honda kept on making them, probably would have bought another. And if you need to know why I went Civic, my requirements priorities were 1) Commuter car 2) Cost 3) Fun to drive 4) Styling 5) Safety. When you run the numbers Civic completely destroyed everything in its class.

Guess that means I get my membership revoked from this site...?? j/k

Will let you know what I am going to do soon...

Oh and Emerson, I do not have the stock Prelude grille, I have a custom one.

How much total could I make parting it out?

In the case of a part-out, I call dibs on the driver side fender and full OEM kit!

custom grill? pics?
Its hard to tell how much you can get out of it. But i know that you can part it out and make more money than selling the whole thing at once. Parting out can get really annoying though.

I don't want to paint my stock trim because I want an OEM Lip Kit, otherwise I wouldn't have asked for one. He didn't say he had a kit but someone in his Member's Rides thread said they didn't like his OEM kit. Granted his pictures didn't work..I assumed maybe he actually had (does have) one. It was worth a try.

hnguy4, you would be right. I do have an OEM lip kit, although it is in very bad shape. The front lip is very used, and the passenger side is cracked and rattles alot. Nevertheless, if you want it you can have it for 50 bucks or so.

It looks like I will be parting it out soon but I have to get the car from the mechanics back to my house and go pick up my new car this week so I will start a new thread soon...

Death_adder, I think so, just wondering how I can do it while compensating for the fact that it will eventually need to go to the junk yard...
