Black top is usdm h22a4. Red top is the type s motor and blue top is h23vtec. Which one 2 pick? Its basically on preference or ur spending limit. U cant twin turbo a 4cyl. I'd say the most u can do is build it and turbo it. Or build it and have a big ass shot of nitrous

For an SH if you want a straight swap then it is a H22A Type S or another H22A4 from an SH. H22Z1 from an Australian VtiR ATTS would also work, although pointless and hardly practical.

If you are talking twin turbo, then you would be wanting to get rid of the ATTS anyway, so I guess anything goes. Stock output is also irrelevant though since you would be re-sleeving the block, etc.

I belive the original blue tops are F20 from an SIR not an H23vtec. I almost 99% sure honda did not make an H23 vtec. H23 vetec is a hybrid from the "ricer world" I.E H23 block with H22 head. (could be blk, red or blue.. even chrome )

H23A VTEC was the SiR-T wagon. Think it was also 4WD. Has a blue valve cover as does the F20B you mentioned.

Think the H22A7 from Accord Type-R's also had a blue valve cover. Not sure about the H22A's from Euro-R's (think red?) or the later European Preludes which I believe came with the same engine as the ATR.

wow seriously? where have you been for the last 5 years?

now keep in mind the blue top h23vtec was only in the accords and came automatic....so getting a tranny like the M2B4 is up to you. Also keep in mind the HP rating is to the crank not teh flywheel.

hope that helped at least a lil OP. You cant twin turbo the lude... theres just no room. you can get a massive turbo if yourd like but youll loose things like a/c and p/s. All motor is another option the route that i chose and i put down 276Wheel horse power and 181 torque

n 1998 Honda produced a rare VTEC version of the H23 engine for use in Japan only. It is essentially an H23 block with an H22 head. The power is on par with a typical H22 engine, but with a lower redline. The higher models actually came with Type-S head parts and not just JDM and also Type-S pistons... ive gotten a couple of these engines and theyll lay down about 185whp and 160tq out of the box on a dynopack dyno!

Specifications

* Bore × Stroke: 87.0 mm × 95.0 mm (3.43 in × 3.74 in)

* Type: In-line 4 cylinder, aluminum block and head
* Compression ratio: 10.6:1
* Max output : 200 PS (147 kW; 197 hp) @ 6800 rpm
* Max torque : 163 ft·lbf (221 N·m) @ 5300 rpm

H23A VTEC

* Found in the Japanese 1998-2002 Accord Wagon SiR (CH9). It produces 200 PS (147 kW; 197 hp) & 163 ft·lbf (221 N·m) and comes with a "blue top".
* Found in the Japanese 1998-2002 Accord Wagon AWD (CL2). It produces 200 PS (147 kW; 197 hp) & 163 ft·lbf (221 N·m) and comes with a "blue top".

But it has the same power as an H22.....only with a lower Redline...why celebrate?(as in, what is the advantage?)

the h23 vtec actually has more low end torque than the h22, as well as it has a slightly smaller redline. the reason to celbrate for me is the fact that the h23 vtec is the one i am goin to go full n/a with. .1 displacement is a major thing in the world of Honda racing.

^^^Hmmm, that's good to know(about the displacement thing)!

does that mean that boring your engine over .25 would technically make a difference? Or would it only make a difference AFTER fully building your engine? hahahaha

Kronn--No ****? Right on! hahahahahaha
