98 prelude w/ Rust in Los Angeles

I was looking at a 98 SH with 112k miles on it and noticed that there were a few small rust spots on both the roof channel and near the moon roof with a bit of cracking occuring in the metal. The car has been in Los Angeles its entire life (no snow or salted roads.)

If I were to buy it, I'd likely want to get this fixed, but am unsure how thorough I'd have to be to eliminate the problem, since it won't be in a climate with very high moisture.

Well, that's crazy as hell!

You need to take it to a body shop to have the full extent of the rust exposed so they know how much work needs to be done. Pretty obvious.

Good luck(shouldn't be too much rust......can't believe there's rust on a 12 year old CA car....)

Closely inspect the rear quarters. They could have some open wounds there as well.

Even more so look or feel behind the rear quarters...first place on most Hondas to rust is the rear quarters...here in MI we call it Honda-rot.
