97 SH lower ball joint

i just snapped my driver lower ball joint, if i get it fixed do i just need to get the ball joint replaced or a whole set of piece?

i really need a quick answer as im back to school on monday and i dont have too much money or time, im really hoping that the lower ball joint which is about $30-40 will do the job and have me back on the road temporarily.

i was driving around 20km/h and the car just dropped i looked under and the lower ball joint was out from driver side.

thanks in advance, yes i did search the forums and found nothing...

I don't know very much about suspension repairs, but maybe this site will help give you a good look at what parts you know you've broken.

Part Detail

Good luck man.

Is it the front lower ball joints or is it the rear lower ball joint? There are 2 lower ball joints on each side for the front. my front driver side lower rear ball joint popped out on me in May. Cost me $70 CDN from Honda.

Did your Prelude have the lower ball joint recall service done?

http://members.shaw.ca/FifthGenTSB2/...l%20Joints.pdf

You can check by your VIN at this site:

I'm curious if your ball joint failure was the defective ball joint or a newer redesigned one.

Replacing Lower Ball Joint

Im replacing mine too. Except I'm not sure if it would fit on an SH. It should though, I've looked at both knuckles before and didn't see a size difference. Def check other forums.

Cheap fix for rear lower ball joints!!!

Hondapartsdeals.com has the part number listed for a front lower ball joint for an SH part#: 51220-SL5-003. I would call them just to make sure though.

ha i know its already Feb., but good luck
