so i have a 97 Lude SS...my transmission is done.
I read the thread of the national problem or recall with these but i doubt that im still under warranty since the tranny began to have problems at 182k. However can anyone tell me how difficult it would be or how realistic it is to CONVERT THE SS(Sequential Sportshift) or the TIP TRONIC tranny into a MANUAL 5 SPEED??? my dad knows a lot of info about cars and he's a great mechanic so im pretty sure its very possible???

any price estimates? ranges?
any pre made kits?
advice?

I had it done to my 97 SS. Costs a few grand.

better to look for a wrecked 5spd. and pull all the parts off of it you will need. Its a bit of a pain to get everything. But its worth it if you dont want to sell for another Lude.

please search this. We get this question a few times a month. It has been covered extensively. In the past I have searched for threads that will answer your questions and found them within ten minutes. No pre-made kits though.
