97-01 Prelude THrottle Position Sensor?

Hey All,

Does anybody know if the TPS from other Hondas around the same years will work for the 97-01 Preludes?

I've heard the Civics and Accords use the same type of TPS.

Any verification or if you had changed your TPS with a non-Prelude TPS. Let me know how it worked out for you.

Thanks.

Tim

Yes. The only one I don't know of since about 92 that won't work is the S2000 one.

I can't remember but I think there's one that didn't use the safety screws like ours does. For the Prelude, I don't think it's available seperate from the TB (new).

Yeah that's what Honda told me. They said you had to buy the TPS with the Throttle Body.

Todd, do you know if the TPS on our cars could just go bad?

The reason I'm asking is because my car is giving me P0122 Throttle/Pedal MIL just recently.

Thanks.

Yes, they can, but it's pretty rare. That MIL would be a good indicator of it. You may want to check the wiring but it sounds like a new TPS is in order.
