60K Service Validation....what do I get???

I am gonna take my car in soon for the 60K Service. I have a lot of other things I want done too, so I want to make sure I don't "doulbe up" and get charged for stuff included in the 60k service....so could someone please post the most detailed list possible of what I am gonna get....thanks

Dude, I just checked my Helm Manual and you know what... it says exactly the same as the Owner's Manual. So you may just refer to your owner's manual.

Each Honda dealer usually has its own agenda as to what items to be included for the specific service schedule. I personally think those are major ripoff schedules, because in most cases the dealer includes A LOT of items which may not be necessary but you are getting charged for. If you are not so mechnically declined I believe you can do most of the maintenance yourself and save up hundreds of cash. Take my dealer's recommended service schedule (for 60k miles service) for example:

Complete Lubrication - we do need complete chassis lube
Change Motor Oil - DIY
Replace Oil Filter - DIY
Replace Transmission Fluid - DIY
Flush Cooling System - agree, if it hasn't been done in the past
Replace Brake Fluid - agree
Check & Adjust Clutch - if there's nothing wrong, why bother?
Ser Tire Pressure & Check Tire Condition - yeah save another $20 in your pocket please
Rotate Tires and Computer Balance - you decide
Check Wheel Alignment - only if you need it
Major Tune-Up, Replace Spark Plugs - DIY if you need it
Set Timing and Service Emission Control
Adjust Valves & Replace gasket - if not noisy I wouldn't bother
Replace Filters: Emission, Air, Gas Carbon Canister, and PCV Valve - DIY
Check & Service Oxygen Sensor - only if applicable
Check Suspension & Shock for Leaks - if there's nothing wrong, again why bother?
Check Exhaust System - not a bad idea but I mean if it's bad it's bad and you'll know it when it's getting bad
Test Battery and Charging System - I say WTF
Check Propeller Shaft, Axles, and Axle Boots - DIY when you change your oil and filter
Check/Adjust Brakes/Pads and Linings
Lubricate All Hinges, locks and latches
Check All Hoses and Belts - I'd let them check these items so in case they break I can have someone to blame
Install BG Fuel & Emission System Service Kit - WTF is that? Even the manual says not to add any additives to the fuel/oil!
Inspect Fuel Induction System - mostly likely they will suggest a flush and charge you additional $100
Complete Safety Check - ok I don't wanna argue with that
Check All Fluid Levels/Top Off - DIY

I'd only request to have those bold type faced items done by the dealer and do the rest by myself. Of course it's all up to you cuz some people may not have time to do all these sh!t. Anyway, check out the cost first and do it smartly.

Wow!!! Thanks for the help man, I really appreciate it. The dealer actually just has a flat charge for it so it doesnt matter what I want or not. I am gonna go ahead and have it done, cause I want the valve adjustment and coolant flush. I also want some of those other things done, like the suspension and axle check, and A/C filter replacement. Thanks again for the help.

Anytime!

Take my words for it man, that flat charge thing is just a bait. Unless your car is in tip top condition you never end up paying just the flat rate! Haven't you taken your car to the dealer for service before?

Well, I shouldn't be so negative cuz there are actually some honest dealers out there...

Actually my dealership seems really cool, one of the master techs has a heavily modded 5th Gen Lude....I got the 52.5k service done for a flat rate, even with my intake, exhaust, etc. etc....But the dealer seems very nice, been there a bunch of times for little stuff and they are very helpful. I actually have a coupon for this validation for like 15% off and a free rental car for a day (too bad I am 19 and you have to be 25 or somethin). But this spring break I am taking her in and getting this sh*t done. I actually typed a list for myself tonight in my dorm room of the stuff I want to do on my car this break and the 60k validation is one of em. I actually have like 15 things to do, hopefully I get them all done!!
