60 miles on bad valves - Honda Prelude Forum

I bent some valves acouple weeks back on the interstate, mis-gear. I stoped at rest stop and the car cut off....I managed to cut it back on but had to stay above 1500-2000rpm range....I drove the car another 24miles to get it to my parents house in PA. My question is my performance shop is back in NJ. Basically its around 60 miles away. Can I drive the car 60 miles without it quitting on me? Dont wanna go to any shops in PA cause I dont know them. Will the lude make it 60 miles keeping in mind it did make the inital 24 miles when it 1st broke down?

I wouldn't risk it. Just have it towed out there.

It depends on how bad you damaged the valves... you should be able to make it, since a 60 mile tow will cost you bucu bucks, but be prepared to get towed the rest of the way if you have to;

Don't drive it 'till it dies on you; if it gets worse on your way, pull over and get it towed.
