5th Gen Type-S Squeeling Sound Stop-Start

Hi All, after some extensive searching I didn't manage to find the answer to my dilema?

For the last 12 months i've noticed that my 5th Gen Type-S often prodcues a loud squeeling sound when I pull away from stand still and this is more pronounced when the steering wheel is turned particularly to the right?

It doesn't happen all the time but it's becoming more frequent and is getting louder. I originally thought it could be the clutch but im also now considering a power steering issue (I just hope it's not ATTS related)?

I'm expecting a new clutch next week but the car is due for a dyno and re-map in 4 weeks and i'd like to cover all bases.

Any advice much appreicated!

Batsy

Thanks TypeT,

Didn't think about that? Anyone have ideas on the best way to proove what's causing this problem....without me spending loads changing parts that are probably fine?

Thanks again,

Batsy.

Could also be a belt slipping. Can you post a video of the sound?

Video

I will try and get it on video - out of interest, what is the max upload limit on the forum so I can compress?

Cheers,

Batsy.

My guess is it's a lose belt.

If your power steering is low on fluid, it can make some nasty sounds, but that's mostly when you're actually turning the steering wheel, and that's mostly when the car is at a full stop, so I can't see that as the issue. Brakes can "squeal" but only when braking usually. Belts however can make some loud chirping or squealing sounds when RPMs change quickly. Have you been able to reproduce the sound while the transmission is in neutral and you just rev the engine up real quick? Does it do it more/less when your lights/AC are on?
