5th gen suspension

my current shocks blew and im in the market for new suspension. im on a tight budget so the cheaper the better. not really willing to spend 1000 on coilovers. do you guys know of any good set up with springs and shocks. i've heard good things about koni/H&R. any other good combinations? also where can i get koni shocks from? apparently all the websites i've visited only has it for base model ludes.....thanks

Aftermarket shocks are only made for base model preludes . . . but so are aftermarket springs. Combine the two, and they work perfectly on an SH.

The aftermarket suspension will ONLY work if you do both struts and springs at the same time. Keep in mind converting to base springs and struts (or when changing any suspension pieces) your alignment settings will be affected so get it fixed right after you do the work. I'd also recommend KYB AGX struts, I like them and the adjustment is a little more fool-proof than the Koni's, the KYBs just don't hold up as well to high spring rates

i've been hearing a lot of bad stuff about tokicos. ppl said they werent worth eventhough they're cheap. i got illuminas right now with nuespeed springs and the front shocks blew. cant really compare it to anything cuz i only had tokicos but from what ppl are saying stay away from it.

Tokico, KYB, Tein etc are crap. Of the crap group the Tokico Illiminas are the best (still ****ty valving curves though). The important part of the suspension is the dampers. Get Koni and use H&R Sport springs or Eibach Pro-kit. The spring doesn't matter as much, but stay away from Neuspeed as they use progressive rate springs in the front too.

hows the ride on h&r? is it really stiff? i wanna get dropsprings that will have at least 2 inch drop. im currently running nuespeed dropsrings and my car is slammed. my tires are almost tucked in. i wanna get the same "look" on my car but with different kind of suspension. what do you guys recommend?

With 2+ inches of drop, your only choice should be Koni's - and I'd research & think about shortened body Koni's ($$$) for drops that low.

fwiw, I've been very satisfied with my KYB AGX's, I've put more than 80k miles on a set of H&R sports with them.

Both H&R sports & Eibach Pro-kits also use progressive rate springs up front. And for the intended application of those products, I wouldn't consider that to be a bad thing.

Guys, what do you think about Skunk2 springs?
Skunk2 Racing: 1993-01 PRELUDE(ALL)

( I think combine it with Koni sport or Kyb AGX)

I put skunk2 springs on my SH with stock struts and it felt really close to stock. I felt almost no handling boost at all, just was a bit lower. I also hated that they made the rear drop slightly more than the front... looked like my a$$ was dragging along

What's wrong with Tein? I was thinking of getting a kit, prices range between £450 and £750 from camskill.co.uk so they seem good value.

If they're crap, please let me know why/how.
