5th gen super noob needs guru help with 4ws / pics ????

Hi all
bought my first lude the other day, noticed 4ws wasnt working and after installing a few bulbs i got code 20 on sws light and a abs light that wont flash up a code at all just stays contantly on. so my next step was a reset this worked.....for about 5 mins and have tryed more than a few times. i took off the steering wheel because code 20 is a main steering position sensor, i read the manual and went to look for a paint make which i really cant find. all i seem to have behind the wheel is a srs unit and the signal cluster ? is the part inside the signal cluster the main steering position sensor or am i missing mine? i cannot recognise it from the manual. basically my main worries are why is my abs not showing codes and how would i go about aligning the position sensor if i cant find the paint mark? so i can identify the correct item does anyone have a pic or good diagram of one at all?
sorry for the essay thread but im hoping that there is a 4ws guru who can give pretty specific answers.
thanks in advance ppl

This is the colsest thing your going to get for the 5g on 4WS:

http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&sou...xKqH5w&cad=rja

The main steering position sensor is located in the steering column.

Not true....Prelude Si was released in US in limited quantities w/ 4WS.

I sold 2 of them when I worked at a dealership and people paid BIG $$ to have one! The 2 I sold went for $2000 over the MSRP.

They also made 4WS in the 1995 SE Model

We're talking about 5G Preludes. 4WS wasn't an option for us.

OP should find this useful:

Another DIY ATTS, ABS, & CEL (Check Engine Light) DTC

94 was the last year of the 4ws here in the USA. No 95's had it even the SE model as you claim.

4ws started with the 3rd gen here in the states in 1988 and was used only until 1994 sorry to say. Only 4th gens that got it were 92-94 here in the USA.

Special things about the SE's of 95 were different wheels, factory rear spoiler, leather seats, and many came in a tan/tan color. They had no interior 3rd brake light as all came with lighted spoilers. They were NOT 4WS sorry to say as you claim.

BTW, I also worked for Honda for many years.

Yeah..That was my flub...I was thinking Si and for some reason typed SE. 1995 stuck in my head cause I remember a customer bringing one in and flipping out about the $$ to fix it...that was IN 1995...not the model year...My Bad!

The 4WS Si's I sold were 1990 Models. As I remember they had a rear window wiper and a different engine with some leather stuff...cant remember all the extra features..but they were sweet and the people that bought them had the only ones on the state (at that moment)...The dealer I worked for sold a lot of cars and had first pick.

I made a HELL of a commission off of those!

No US model Prelude has ever had arear wiper sorry to say. Overseas yes they did but not here. Wrong once again sorry to say.

As for Honda dealers getting a "pick" I am sorry to say that the North American dealers are allocated their inventory by Honda. They really get not much choice in what they get.

OK, If you say so... I guess I was hallucinating. I remember a rear wiper..but it was 20 years ago.

And as for the pick... I'm limited by what was told to us...it very well may been just told to us as fluff.

The only Honda's/Acura's to have rear wipers here in the USA were Civic/Accord wagons, SUV's such as the CR-V, Pilot, MDX, RDX, some Civic hatches, not all got this item BTW and Integra/RSX.

Sorry no Lude any gen got a rear wiper. Across the pond they did though.

kronn thanks, you were right i missed you post reading it on my phone. the only thing im having a problem with is the manual is for an abs only ecu as i have an uk 5th gen the 4ws ecu and the abs is one unit and the wire colours are different and i assume the pinout??. i followed the troubleshooting anyway connecting the wires to ground. the only one that turned the abs light off was the one from the cluster to the ecu, meaning apparently this cable has a break. however i am recieving voltage threw it?? is there any way to tell if this is the cause before i drag it to an electrical mechanic to re wire?? it would seem like i have brought myself a dud!!!!
