5th gen prelude aftermarket alarm help.

I have a aftermarket alarm system that I want to hook into the door lock system, and running lights. How can I connect my door locks and running lights into my aftermarket alarm system? I would like to have the doors unlock when I disarm the alarm, and lock when the alarm is armed. I would also like the running lights to flash when it's armed and disarmed. Do I connect it into a reley for the door locks somewhere in the car? There is sooooo much wiring in the 5th gen preludes, that it makes me confused!! Any info on this would be great!! Thanks

This falls into the category of unless you know wiring REALLY well it's better left to the professionals. There are a lot of things I will screw with on my car but under dash wiring (excepting the stereo bits) is not one of them, thats a recipe for disaster and then it costs you 2x as much to have someone do it right because you tried to do it first. Pick your battles my friend pick your battles....

I am an electrician by trade. And I have a really good understanding of how electrical stuff works. So all I really need is a shove in the right direction. The alarm came with a diagram of the alarm main harness. So I know which wires go to what. But I don't know where to connect them into the car. I need my parking lights to flash when armed and disarmed, and I also need the door locks to lock and unlock when armed and disarmed. I would also like the alarm to trigger when the dome light comes on. My one rule that I have about my cars, is i never let someone else work on them! I want to know my cars inside and out, that way when I'm out somewhere and something hose wrong, I know where to start looking for the problem. But that's just me. If some one could tell me where is the best place to tie into the door locks, Parking lights, and the dome light that would be most helpful! I do have a actual Honda service manual for my prelude to help with this install.

Doing some research I stumbled across this site, Vehicle wiring diagrams
They have model specific wiring diagrams for pretty much all cars. I also found this site, 1999 Honda Prelude Alarm, Remote Starter, Keyless Entry Wiring Information
They tell you what wires and the colors of the wires you need to look for in your car, to install an aftermarket alarm and aftermarket stereo equipment.

Since you are electrically inclined you probably have a leg up, I mean I have built vacuum tube power amps from kits and pre-amps and stuff like that from scratch and I'm pretty handy with a soldering gun I'm just one of those guys that doesn't like hacking into factory harnesses for anything but if you are confident in your wiring ability you may be good to go. Most alarms usually are color coded pretty well and most of the wires for stuff like door locks and the other bits you are suggesting are under the steering column or in that general area. You may need to run a little longer wire for the dome light but the link above looks like it might have all of those signals and their colors mapped out.
