5th Gen Exhaust Question...

What's up PO. Got a question for you. and before you ask or comment... yes i searched. lol.

Do the SH and BASE model have the same axle-back fitment. i know my piping is different from the header back due to my ATTS unit but not sure about from axle back.

could not find on:
5th gen parts guide
5th gen resource guide
looking under my car
google search
yahoo search
or asking a magic 8 ball

thanks for the help in advance

Well since you waited a whole 27 minutes. I'll comment. I don't know. But hats off to you that you've found the answer.

maybe people looked but did not reply because you said what's up PZ when this is PO.

i don't know either, but i would say they do. easy way to find out is to look up the part numbers for the SH muffler and the Base muffler. I think you did since you said they use the same muffler, not sure if you meant specific part numbers or just how they look.

I can see why this would be helpful to know since you can start swapping b pipes between same brand mufflers for our cars.

If you think about it. All SH exhaust systems can be used on Base models if you add like a 4" extension piece to the pipe where it connects to the catalytic converter. I would assume then that since it's expensive to set up machines to make a whole different axle back portion as opposed to having it just cut the b pipe shorter, that yes... the axleback portion itself is the same for both the SH and the Base.

Assumption mind you.

or are you trying to put like evo2 mid pipe with say a world sport2 muffler part?

what are the correct terms for the pipes anyways? A and B? B and C?

not a direct fit, but some slight modifications to the pipe length and relocation of the hangers will make it fit. or so my experience from watching a shop put my old rs*r on my friends 4th gen

lol. sorry about the PZ address. haha. fukkin copy and paste made it easier. someone on PP answered it for me that's why i reposted 27 mins later. i have a WS2 and there is a guy on here or PP that has an apexi exhaust he is lookin to get rid of. mine is too quiet as per my liking and his too loud per his. so we may swap. he has a base and i have an sh.

he has no idea what type of apexi it is though. he posted a vid. it does not seem to be an N1 which is good cuz i hate it. so i like the sound from the vid clips and may switch axle backs aka mufflers
