Hello all.
Was just wondering if anyone has done 17x9's +25 on their prelude and what mods it needed. Im not lowered or anything and its a pretty low offset, will this fit or will i need to roll fenders and such. Was either gonna do 215 or 225/40r17. Stock suspension and everything. I would only lose 2mm of clearence to the inside, and it would just stick out an extra 62mm which is like 2.5 inches. With a smaller profile of 40 this would work would it not?
Also,
Dont tell me its not gonna fit because you dont like how wide it is, i dont care, its a look im going for, for MY car. I have searched all the forums on every possible webpage and its just full of people instantly saying no to even 8" rims.
Gah what is it with you noobs and wanting crazy rim combinations?I have only seen 17x9 work in the back but it still rubbed when there was enough suspension travel.save your money and lower your car first! Aftermarket rims look like crap on the stock 4x4 prelude suspension anyway.you picked the wrong car if you want wheels like that.

OP-You are free to do what you want but don't be mad when you ask about doing something that you may later regret and someone tells you not to do it.I love the hella flush look but 17x9 is too wide.end of story.

I run 8" wide all around on my DC teg, and many people run wider than that.
Theres even a few preludes with 10" wide rims around on Canibeat and stuff. I don't know what it is with you Prelude people, but you hate anything involving proper wheel fitment.
First off that is anything BUT "proper fitment" and second I said you are free to do what you want so quit wasting your time trying to justify yourself to me and just do what you want to do.I am here on PO to help. If you do not want to listen to my advise then that is fine. All I am saying is that in a daily driver type situation 9 inches is too wide. Even the guy on that for sale thread you linked said he was selling them because he wanted more clearance and more tire to protect the rims (thus further confirming my point). If your lude is a weekend/fun car then I can maybe see you getting by with that but if your car is your only vehicle/DD then I dont recommend it mmmkay?

I can assure you you'll need to roll and pull your fenders. 17x9 is already pretty wide as it is. +25 is just ridiculous. I ran 17x8.5 +45 and had to stretch 205/45 in order for me not to rub and it's flush. Your fitment will hellapoke...
The thing about Prelude owners is that we aren't Civic owners. So the majority of us have taste and understand function>form. Unfortunately, it's not unanimous.
By the way, What it do, dogg!

LOL at the haters in this thread. If u dont have anything useful to post plz GTFO.
@OP U are going to need a fender roll and smaller then 215/45 tires. I would suggest 215/40 or 205/40. If u want the best look ur gonna need coilovers too so u dont look like a mexican. U can do it on stock shocks but its not gonna look good at all. Im running 17x9 +20 with 205/40 and its my daily. If u wanna run on stock suspension then u could get taller tires to fill the gap.

Flush is cool, but what you posted reminded me of the 13" spokes Kronn posted (he beat me too it).
When the tire and rim stick past the fender.... that is opposite of flush. I would only call it proper fit if it were a 4x4.
look at that pic again.
But if that's the look you like, go for it. But don't call it flush or proper fit. Also don't get butt hurt when we say it looks dumb. It does to us, and prob will to you too later on.
