Yeah..i thought it was the last owner since I bought mine used, but come on? If this many people are having the same freakin problem then its not the driver. Its the freakin R&D department who developed the Prelude and didn't put much effort in testing. BTW: mine started at 15,500 when I bought it used and I have a 98SH....

Just bought mine with 40K miles. 5th grinds if Im shifting only at higher RPM otherwise its no problem. I also just started to notice this little rough spot in second too. it doesnt grind but i can feel some little glitch in the shifter. i hate it! Last thing i want to do is blow money to replace gears/synchros or tranny if they were designed crap in the first place.

Also, if i do replace this stuff how do i know i wont get another defect?

I bought myself a lemon

Just bought this gorgeous looking '00 lude with 59k on it. 4 days later...slave cylinder took a crap so I had that and the Master cylinder replaced. Now I'm left with the 5th gear grind. Thanks to this place I know about it but it doesnt ease the pain. I dont WANT to granny shift or double clutch. That is broke to me. But $2500 - $4000 to fix or replace. Think I'm gonna sell it if the lemon law here doesn't cover me.
