5Th ECU Reprogramming after auto to 5spd swap.

Ok...

Someone mentioned that their dealer flat out refused to reprogram their ICU/ECU combo...

I'm a little confused as to why a dealer would refuse to reprogram you vehcile to work properly with the new ECU? It sould be as simple as: I had a computer problem and got an ECU from a junk yard.

I now understand that there are three ways to handle the ECU during a swap:

1) You installed the ICU / ECU combo from wreck 5 speed. Then swap out the ignition key cylinder, door locks, and trunk lock. You can use the keys from the wreck...

2) Swap out the ECU and get the dealer to reprogram it.

3) Get the ICU and ECU from a wreck and install in your converted 5 speed. So long as you have at least 1 black key, Honda can use the new T5 key system to create new key sets cut to your old door/ignition keys.

Good to know... I was kinda surprised as to the dealer response by a few other folks who were having problems.

ecu reprogramed for my keys. Which
dealer did you go to?
