5 speed swap, ecu/vtec

I completed the five speed swap, but still have the auto ecu atm. We looped it so it thinks it's constantly in neutral and now, as expected, the vtec does not work at all. When it gets up to 5200 the sound changes but there is no, what people like to call, "kick" to it. My question is, how can I get it to work, or should it work regardless? I planned on having the resistor moved etc. to make it run as a manual would, but I cannot find anyone to do it. So any info on this will be much appreciated. Even if it's a place I can buy a manual ecu for a decent price.

I swapped the speed sensor to my old auto one, vtec is perfectly fine and I also only have the "idle surge" people complain about when the car is cold. I'm assuming it means I can keep my auto ecu and be fine.
