It would be easier to get the parts designed for the 5th Gens - JDM, Aussies and Europe all offered 4ws.

get the parts designed for the 5th gen, but it has nothing to do with the ECU, there is a seperate computer for it.

So all you would have to do is wire a JDM 4ws rack and it would work on a SH since it has a seperate computer??

I think you're oversimplifying the install a bit...
Why are you asking anyway? You're not seriously thinking of doing this are you?

I'm not planning on doing this, I think it would be overkill for the SH and might actually hurt performance. I am just curious...

Here is the computer controlled gear mechanism. Glitched on me once and stuck straight, but I just restarted the engine and it has been fine since!

If you are interested in a 4ws conversion on a 5th gen, do a search under my posts for 4ws. I researched this, and you'd be better off trying to import a 5th gen 4ws from another country. It is NOT an easy job, and you need a ****load more than just a rear rack and computer.

marcucci,
i've seen you mention this kinda stuff about 4ws time and time again.
why were you so interested in adding it on a 5th gen? do you think it would have helped that much?
just curious
fyi, now that i'm used to the feel, i really like it.
