4th gen power folding in 5th gen

Hi,

Please contribute if anyone has valuable info about this.

i'm trying to do a retrofit of a JDM 4th gen power folding mirror into a 5th gen. Thing is I have CDM lude and I wanna retain the heated feature also. I know someone that has done power folding mirror and heated mirror in his 4th gen.

keep in my mind that I dont want to use the JDM triangle since it doesnt fit on a 5th gen. The pivot base seem to be bolt-on so I might try to swap the interior into the 5th gen shell I have...

here is some pics

anyone have a pic of a 5th gen mirror without a mirror on it?

Small update even if ANYONE seem to care....

White and black wire seem to are the one that drive the motor.

Now I am stuck, the fscking pivot wont move so I am unable to get the interior out and try to fit it into my 5th gen shell %$^$#%

Anyone have a tip beside breaking everything in pieces?

Another quick update .. but sad news...

the right upper part of the 5th gen mirror is in the way... I guess it is NOT doable unless you modify the 5th gen shell...

one last thing to try: JDM 94-01 Integra DC2 Power Folding Mirror

but I do not have one handy

Yea I expected as much. It's going to be a pain to retrofit into a 5th gen housing.

Look here for a comparison between : BB6 mirror and Integra DB8 Folding Mirror. they look quite the same.

this is possible.

Mart this is OT but does the mirror just pop out of the housing or did you need to remove the entire assembly to remove the mirror?

1.- on a 5th gen, if u have heated mirror, the mirror wont come off according to the helm. It has to be changed as a whole.
2.- on a 4th gen, you move the mirror toward the sky and you gently lift the lower part of the mirror and it will pop off
3.- for a non heated 5th gen mirror, I am not quite sure how it has to be done.... I think you have to use a screwdriver and go behind the mirror and unscrew something...

So what you are saying is, if I want to get heated mirrors for my USDM 5thgen, that I would have to purchase a whole new assembly???

This does not look good (expense wise)

I need to double check this now since I am planning a much needed heated mirror conversion.

well the 4g JDM folding mirror internal assembly with slight modding fit into 5g USDM mirror assemblies... just some JBwelb and cutting and they fit fine... I guess that's not so with the CDM mirrors...
