4th gen faster than 5th gen? - Honda Prelude Forum

i've heard from some people that the 4th gen is faster than the 5th gen. I realise that the 4th gen is a little lighter but is it that much lighter where it's actually faster? I assume so since any wieght reduction will make a difference.

yes, the 4th gen vtec is faster than the 5th gen preludes. They are super fast. Specially the 93-95's cuz they are obdi

They aren't that much faster than the 5th Gen. It really comes down to the driver. I raced one 5 or 6 times, and it was back and forth. I'd beat him, and he'd beat me. So don't think that the 4th Gen. is just going to kick your ass by 2 cars or something, it really just comes to driving skills

obviously when two cars are so close.. no shit its gonna be a drivers race. the same could be said with ludes vs celicas. that said.. who cares that its a drivers race. thats a given.

when questions like this are asked, it should be ok to compare them assuming that all other factors are equal. otherwise, why even ask the question?

4th gen is lighter, OBD-I, and better gearing. somehow the 5th gen's have a "rated" 10HP more.

thats right. 4g is faster. 5g has better handling. i like the body styling of the 5g better than the 4g cause the 4g front bumber looks wierd.

lets see sense a stock 5th gen puts out about 160whp stock and a 4th gen puts about 152 whp stock...yea i guess that honda is tryng to rip us 5th geners off..

well my bro turboed his 4th gen and gave it to my sis,she gave him her playstation 2 and cash.

and when he went off the college he bought his GTS and we've only raced once, but he beat me pretty bad, cause hes been racing for awhile now. Punk biatch wont teach me some tricks.

yes the 4gen is faster in acceleration, But the 5gen is MUCH better when talking about handling

did you and your brother race from a rolling start or from a stop? you losing bad from a stop kinda makes more sense..
