In reference to this thread, I just happened to purchase a 1999 Honda Prelude with a clean title, 139,000 original miles, tiptronic transmission, body kits, recently painted white color and all black leather interior with stereo system and a viper 2 way lcd pager alarm. No mods to the engine whatsoever, but best part of all was that I got it for $3,800. The guy who I bought it from had purchased it 4 months ago but was about to leave to another city and wasn't gonna take the car with him. At first he wanted $5,500, but after test driving it, I told him what's the less he would ask for the car. He told me 3 other guys were also interested in the car, and so the less he would let it go for was 4 grand. I then brought the price down 200 bucks more, for the car's headlights were faded and one was cracked, a small trim of the right quarted panel was cracked and needed repair with bando or fiberglass and the right side front mirror had a broken motor. The guy didn't even wash the car before taking it in to see it, nor did it have any oil on the motor when I drove it back home. What an irresponsible guy. All in all, I think I did make a good deal. Although im still fixing the car, it only needs very minor details and I am very happy with it. Thus, I would recommend for those who want to purchase a Prelude or any other car, to just keep on looking and don't go for the first ride you see. You may get lucky and get a good deal like I did.
