All 5G Preludes are OBDII.

i was under the impression that some jdm preludes were obd1 as i recall reading about lilredlude have to swap some components off her old usdm engine onto her new type s swap to retain obd 2

There's a difference between JDM OBD and USDM OBD, however, it is OBDII.

im a bit discombobulated to clarify, jdm 5g preludes are obd1 or 2? and my idea of chipping the type s ecu is worthless.

Every single 5th gen prelude built on Earth uses an OBDII ecu of some sort.

That means they all use OBDII, but they are not identical, some are different and not compatible. Such as the USDM and the JDM versions of OBDII: they are not plug-n-play compatible; the JDM ecu's cannot be read by the diagnostic equipment here in the U.S., among other differences(speed limiter, etc.).
